About the Artist
Cynthia Bi (meidakeet) is a visual artist based in North America, working primarily in watercolor and gold leaf on wood panels. Her work explores light, movement, and quiet transformation through gradients of sky, atmosphere, and flight.
After years away from the studio while pursuing a legal career, Cynthia made the decision in 2025 to step away and return to her inner life as an artist. This shift marked the beginning of a slower, more intentional artistic practice rooted in observation, memory, and care.
Developed through a gradual and intuitive process, Cynthia’s paintings trace moments of transition—night into morning, stillness into motion, departure into return. Birds appear throughout her work as gentle companions, reflecting migration, renewal, and the long journey home—both across landscapes and inward toward the self.
Her debut collection, Skies of Passage (2025), marks a return to early fascinations with color, luminance, and wonder. Each panel is handmade on wood, mounted with fine cotton watercolor paper, and finished with 24-karat gold leaf, balancing delicacy with permanence.
Through her work, Cynthia invites viewers into spaces of quiet reflection—places where light is felt rather than explained, and where change unfolds gently, one passage at a time.
